NAMES AND ACTIONS FOR ITALIAN MEALS
Here is how meals are called in Italian:
LA colazione = breakfast
LO spuntino = morning snack
IL pranzo = lunch
LA merenda = afternoon snack
LA cena = dinner
Now, here are the actions associated with these meals:
Fare colazione = have breakfast
Example: Faccio colazione con caffè e cornetto. (I always have breakfast with coffee and a croissant)
Fare uno spuntino = have a snack
Example: Faccio sempre uno spuntino a metà mattina (I always have a snack in the middle of the morning)
Pranzare = have lunch
Example: Pranzo sempre a mezzogiorno e mezza. (I always have lunch at half past 12.)
Fare merenda = have a snack
Example: Di solito, faccio merenda alle quattro. (Usually, I have my snack at 4.)
Cenare = have dinner
Example: In casa mia ceniamo sempre alle 8. (In my house we always have dinner at 8.)
